Pasture – each herdsman tries to keep as many cattle as possible > tragedy
The breeding of mankind should be controlled
Finite world < > infinite population growth
Morality depends on the context

3. Lifeboat Ethics (1974)
Lifeboat metaphor instead of spaceship ethics
Uncontrolled immigration and foreign aid
Overpopulation and hunger
Overloading the environment
